The restaurant and boarding house Laco is a family-owned business situated at the entrance of the city of Novigrad-Cittanova. Our lodging is located near the town centre and in the proximity of the beach. Along with the sea-view rooms and a lovely restaurant terrace, Laco also offers a broad range of local traditional dishes and a spacious car park.
Along with running a catering and hospitality business, the Spečina family is also engaged in hunting and sea-fishing activities. Thus, the restaurant always offers fresh products and seasonal dishes such as fish, venison, mushrooms and asparagus. Since all members of the family are fond of both hunting and fishing, they will gladly welcome all those who share their same passion. All guests will be given appropriate advice regarding these activities, since the hosts will meet all their tastes and needs.
Apart from being situated at the very entrance of the town of Novigrad-Cittanova, Laco's accommodation is surrounded by other facilities. The nearest beach is located only 30 meters away from the pension, and its bathing area is furnished with showers and situated next to a lovely green park. The bus station, along with the post office, bank, cash machine and the very centre of the town are only five minutes away on foot. The accommodation will give you the opportunity to discover all natural beauties of northwestern Istria – from the mediterranean vegetation of the coast to thick woods of oaks, chestnuts and beech trees that grow in the upper part of the district of Buje.
The city of Novigrad-Cittanova is situated on the northwestern part of the Istrian peninsula. Even if it is a small fishing town, it has a rich historical past, as witnessed by the exhibits of the City Museum. This small town is rich with cultural heritage and historical goods. The cathedral, the church of St. Agatha, the city walls, as well as the museums (Lapidarium, Gallerion) and art galleries (Galerija Rigo) are the best known cultural and historical sights of Novigrad, along with important events such as the traditional fair and musical festivals (organised by the local tourist board). In addition, one can also visit Novigrad's neighbouring towns – there is Poreč with its unique basilica and its mosaic dating from the Late Antiquity period; Umag and its ATP tour; Grožnjan known as the city of artists; Buje and Brtonigla renowned as places of tradition and good wine; Završje with its leaning steeple or Momjan and its old tower. You can reach all these towns easily within 15 minutes by car or bus.
